Describe the Bug

Password overlay appearing in apps not requesting a password when "draw over" is enabled.

Steps To Reproduce

I am seeing issue occur in MiXplorer file manager (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/app-2-2-mixplorer-v6-x-released-fully-featured-file-manager.1523691/#post-23109280) in multiple places, including the title field when an attempt is made to create an archive (behavior as expected in "key" field). I am seeing the issue occur in Elevate (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wonder) when a new game is selected.

Expected Result

Password overlay should only appear when clicking a username or password field.

Actual Result

Password overlay is appearing in apps with no password request.

Environment

  • Device: Samsung Galaxy S10e
  • Operating system: Android 11
  • Build Version: Version: 2.9.1 (3444)
  • Is this a Beta release? N

Additional Context

Turning "draw over" off will fix this issue, but then Bitwarden won't work for apps that don't support the Android Auto-fill Framework. This issue only appeared recently, probably in the last update. This is not expected behavior is it?

I have dealt with this issue by blacklisting the URIs for these apps. I hadn't realized that was an option until I just looked for it.
