Another user here.

And it happens that I also use the DDG alias generator. I just tried it - at it still works on my end.

Something that someone from Bitwarden might also suggest: could you try to make a clean reinstall of the BW app and see if that resolves it? (make sure you can log in again after that, as that would involve to delete the app data, deinstall the app, restart your phone and install the BW app again)

PS: To be a bit more explicit: if someone from Bitwarden also can't reproduce it, they probably will close your issue - so if you could reproduce it after a clean reinstall of the BW app, that would only strengthen your case here. (and if the issue would resolve, you could be happy about that too)

I gave that a shot.
Cleared all Data/Cache.
Uninstalled and reinstalled.

Same problem persists.

Thanks for the suggestion though!

@davenorth Hm, interesting. Only speculation: I'm only on Android 15 - maybe it's a new bug "due" to Android 17 (Beta 2)?

Android 17 Beta 2

BTW, your support string displays that as Android 16, interestingly (maybe BW has to update that?!):

It very well could be the API level or Android 17.

Hm, the Android 17 Beta should have API level 37 (instead of level 36): https://android-developers.googleblog.com/2026/02/prepare-your-app-for-resizability-and.html 🤔

Hello @davenorth,

Thank you for reporting this. I suspect this could be related to the Beta operating system; I tested this on Android 16 with Bitwarden 2026.3.0, and I was able to generate a new DuckDuckGo email alias. I'd recommend considering using the stable release of Android for an optimal experience.

Thank you again,
