Verified issue does not already exist?

  • I have searched and found no existing issue
  • I have checked my server logs and could not see any errors there
  • I will be attaching my server logs to this issue
  • I will be attaching my client-side (browser) logs to this issue
  • I understand that this issue will be automatically closed if insufficient information is provided

What happened?

The "Apply Budget template" option does not populate categories that have a goal template with repetitions when "Report Budget" is enabled.

I attach an example of a goal template that does not work:

#template €71.86 by 2024-03 repeat every 6 months

What error did you receive?

I do not receive any errors, the categories are simply not filled with the data that corresponds to them.

Where are you hosting Actual?

Docker

What browsers are you seeing the problem on?

Chrome, Safari

Operating System

IpadOS

Most templates don't work in the report budget since you don't store funds in the category. The basic ones that don't consider balance should work fine.

Thank you for your quick response, I would really need a basic one but with repetition, the use case I want to implement is that of a biannual payment but at the moment I cannot do this with the "Report budget" enabled

If you want to save up in categories you should use the rollover budget.
