Verified feature request does not already exist?

  • I have searched and found no existing issue

💻

  • Would you like to implement this feature?

Pitch: what problem are you trying to solve?

Currently, in the desktop app overspending is difficult to distinguish from a normal balance. When scrolling, you have to look very closely to notice overspending. I don't think that just using color and a "-" sign is enough to make overspending easy to detect.

Describe your ideal solution to this problem

I have two ideas to improve this.

  1. Option one would be to have white text on top of a red rectangle.

Image

  1. Option two would be a little less in your face by just making the text bold.

Personally, I would prefer option one, but anything to make this visually more accessible would be welcome.

An overspending banner has been implemented on mobile view but is yet to be added to the desktop view (see https://actualbudget.org/docs/releases/#2540)
