Is this related to GoCardless, Simplefin or another bank-sync provider?

  • I have checked my server logs and could not see any errors there
  • I will be attaching my server logs to this issue
  • I will be attaching my client-side (browser) logs to this issue
  • I understand that this issue will be automatically closed if insufficient information is provided

What happened?

I have added my mortgages as off-budget accounts but they hold some savings so I have removed those accounts and re-added them (knowing I cannot convert the account to on-budget). Problem is, all transactions on my other accounts which were linked to the mortgages were deleted. I'm unsure if this happened when deleting the transactions on the mortgage or the account.

Those transactions still happened on the account that I am no longer tracking. They shouldn't be removed. Hence why I believe this is a bug (not a feat)

It has caused all of my balances to break and now I have to manually re-enter them all.

It should unlink the transaction on the other account (instead of deleting it). As a possible future feature request it could pop-up to ask the user, but default behaviour should not be deleting transactions on other accounts.

What error did you receive?

Dissapearing transactions and incorrect balances.

Locally via Yarn

If the account is forced closed before deleting all the transactions then the other side of the transfer stays. If you delete the transactions that are inside the account first, then the other side of the transfer if deleted, which makes sense since you manually deleted the transfer.

Delete Branch "%!s()"

Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
