Verified feature request does not already exist?

  • I have searched and found no existing issue

💻

  • Would you like to implement this feature?

Pitch: what problem are you trying to solve?

Basically, replicate the same feature as is available for the "Payee" field.
I know categories are modified less frequently, and technically should be set before entering transactions. But on a fresh budget, it's actually easier just to dive into recording a starting balance and a bunch of transactions to get you started. Having to cancel your transaction, head into the budget, create a category, come back and repeat your work is annoying.

I guess a workaround for this would be to leave it un-categorized or put it into a general category and come back to it.

Describe your ideal solution to this problem
