Verified feature request does not already exist?

  • I have searched and found no existing issue

💻

  • Would you like to implement this feature?

Pitch: what problem are you trying to solve?

I keep forgetting to budget for recurring transactions in my budget planning. Especially when the recurrence happens less often such as quarterly or monthly.

For example, insurance, taxes and subscriptions.

Describe your ideal solution to this problem

Use the schedule and add a category and have it automatically added to the budget for the month it's due. For example, a scheduled transaction is set for March every year. When I go to March, the schedule transaction is added to the budget in March.

An alternate solution is to show the transactions scheduled for in the month shown in the budget to remind me to account for it.

Not all templates will work in a tracking budget, if you are using that. The ones that budget all at once will work no matter the budget type.

I also need this feature. Maybe through rules or automatically created categories for scheduled transactions that will hide once the payment is approved.

Have you tried the @youngcw suggestion with templates? I haven't had the chance to yet and I would be interested in your feedback if you have.

Yes but it just automatically allocates money by template rules and it seems to work similar to Auto-Assign from YNAB. However it adds color indicators for Balance value what is another feature I need.
