Verified feature request does not already exist?

  • I have searched and found no existing issue

💻

  • Would you like to implement this feature?

Pitch: what problem are you trying to solve?

I need to backfill a month or two of transactions and I'm worried about data entry (or transaction splitting) mistakes. If I miss or duplicate one transaction, I'll notice by the mismatch in the account balance at the end, but I won't have a way to tell at which point I made a mistake.

Describe your ideal solution to this problem

It would be nice to have a view mode in Actual that shows an extra balance column after each transaction. Right now, I would have to export to Excel and compute that column there.

I know the right way to handle this is probably the CSV import, but it would still be nice to be able to double-check.

Feel free to close, though, if you think this is covered by other features.
