Verified feature request does not already exist?

  • I have searched and found no existing issue

💻

  • Would you like to implement this feature?

Pitch: what problem are you trying to solve?

I'd like to get more detail on certain groups of expenses within an existing budget, already assigned to categories. The expenses have been further identified by tags applied to the Notes field.

For example, I've got a budget for Travel, with expense categories such as food, lodging, fuel, etc. Some of those expenses have tags, such as "#Family visit (parents)" or "#Family visit (inlaws)" or "#Vacation (solo)" or "#Vacation (with spouse)".

In this example, I'd like to produce 5 reports, one for overall Travel expenses, and four others, each with just transactions that have each of the four tags.

Describe your ideal solution to this problem

Enhance the existing dialog for selecting what data should be included in a report (Date filters) with a selection of tags, similar to the Rules interface.

You can add the same filters to reports as you can to rules.

I see filters for date, and the same type of filtering by category (Category, Category Groups... "is one of", etc) as found in rules:

but I don't see filtering by tags from the Notes field. Can you please point out where that function is present or reopen this issue?
