Pitch: what problem are you trying to solve?

Hi, I'm interested in donating a bit of money and prefer using liberapay than open collective. Just in case I preferred to ask you.

Liberapay is a french non profit founded in 2015 (10 years ago!). It does not take a cut of payments and lives only off of donations.

It is open source.

It handles all its internal discussion in the open on a special github repository, including a salon for more off topic discussions. Here's an example of how they share info about the state of affairs. And is very transparent overall.

It is privacy friendly.

The transaction fee (from Stripe or Paypal) are taken from the sender side (I think, I've never received actually!), so if you can mentally afford to have one more source of donations, the rest of the weight should be born by the senders.

Also as it's connected to the github API: it is used to find other open source projects to donate. Meaning people can find actual through there as well. Here's a list with for example f-droid, freecad, teamnewpipe, riseup, etc.

PS: They are very transparent about their internal procedures and bylaws
