Verified issue does not already exist?

  • I have searched and found no existing issue

What happened?

I've noticed that after adding and applying a template or a goal directive, the color indicator on the balance number and the hover tooltip will persist even if the template or goal directive is subsequently removed. Reapplying or overwriting with a non-existent template (aka an empty category note) does not remove the indicators.

The only ways to clear the indicators I've found are:

  • The undo keyboard shortcut
  • Applying a standalone #template or #goal directive without any extra arguments.

I hope I haven't overlooked an open issue or discussion on this topic!

Cheers

How can we reproduce the issue?

  1. Add a template line to a category note, like #template 330 by 2025-07.
  2. Apply the template to for a given month. The indicators work as as intended.
  3. Remove the line #template 330 by 2025-07 from the category note.
  4. Apply the template for that month.
  5. Nothing changes.
  6. Add a new line #template to the category note.
  7. Apply the template for that month.
  8. The indicators are cleared.

Thats strange. I could have sworn that it used to work where the goals would clear out. Ill have to look at it when I get some time
