What happened?

I followed the guide for importing nYNAB budgets. I got the JSON file (31MB) using the JSON export tool provided. When I tried to import it I got an error message "Unknown error. Please report this as a new issue on GitHub" (or something like that).

How can we reproduce the issue?

Trying to import my budget JSON file would probably do it, but I prefer not to share my budget with you.

Where are you hosting Actual?

Pikapods

What browsers are you seeing the problem on?

Chrome

Ok. I was able to import and it works great on edge.actualbudget.org, but
when I try to open my budget file on my pikapods client I get two error
messages. The first is a browser popup saying that there's a problem
loading my file. I click OK. The status of my file changes from "available
to download" to "syncing". I try to open it again and this time I get a
different popup telling me to "Please update Actual!". It also says that I
can find the latest release at app.actualbudget.org, so I try that and the
same thing happens.

Can/should I just run the app from edge?

The export isn't going to work since edge has some changes that pika pods can't do until the next release. The issue is that you have duplicate categories (likely some of them hidden). So if you change the duplicates in YNAB and export again you should be able to import into pika pods.

The export isn't going to work since edge has some changes that pika pods
can't do until the next release. The issue is that you have duplicate
categories (likely some of them hidden). So if you change the duplicates in
YNAB and export again you should be able to import into pika pods.

The export isn't going to work since edge has some changes that pika pods
can't do until the next release. The issue is that you have duplicate
categories (likely some of them hidden). So if you change the duplicates in
YNAB and export again you should be able to import into pika pods.

You might as well use pika pods since that is where your server is. Our site isn't guaranteed to match your server version.
