I can be out of the loop here. But why should the balance be negative? As far as I know, money can be deposited on Credit Cards, even when no payment has to be made. Doesn't this make the balance positive?

Wait what? Really? I thought a credit card was exactly that - I didn't know you could use it as a top up card.

It is theoretically possible for a Credit card to have a positive balance but in the UK (at least) this would be highly unusual. Only perhaps if a refund was received after paying off the monthly balance.

Master Card (in the Netherlands at least) even gives interest over the positive balance. So I don't think it should default to negative balance : ). However, I can agree with @Kidglove57 that it is less common to have a positive balance on a Credit Card.

Would it make sense to have a +/- button like in the schedules creation dialog? It could default to negative, but give an easy option for a positive balance. We also already have all the assets needed to implement, I would think.

This would work, I think by default though it should certainly be negative.
