What happened?

I renamed the "Main" dashboard on the desktop to "Retirement Outlook", it works on desktop. When I go to reporting on my mobile device, the dashboard is still named "Main", and there is an empty "Retirement Outlook" dashboard at the end of the dropdown list. "Main" on mobile has the "Retirement Outlook" reports, as I would expect it to, the name of the dash is wrong.

How can we reproduce the issue?

  • Go to reporting on a desktop
  • Rename the "Main" dashboard
  • open the budget on a mobile device
  • go to reporting
  • hit the dropdown to change dashboards

Where are you hosting Actual?

I'm experiencing a related issue that might help narrow down the root cause.
After deleting the "Main" dashboard, it keeps reappearing as an empty dashboard every time I log in without cache (e.g. incognito mode) and re-download the budget file.

What happens:

  1. I delete the "Main" dashboard
  2. Open the budget in incognito / sign out and re-download the budget file
  3. The "Main" dashboard reappears but empty
  4. I can add widgets to it and they persist within that browser session
  5. However the changes never sync, if I re-download the budget file, "Main" is empty again and it gets a different URL

Environment:

  • Version: 26.2.0
  • Hosting: Docker (self-hosted)
  • Browsers: Chrome and Edge (same behavior on both)

I’m seeing similar issues with the lack of full syncing of dashboard changes. Last night, I made a number of formatting changes to formula cards on my desktop PWA instance hosted by Pikapods. Some were on the “Main” and some were on additional dashboards. I hit the server sync button many times to get try to everything to sync because I’ve previously seen issues with dashboard syncing.

Today when I opened up my PWA on my iPad, the changes on the additional dashboards appeared as expected, but the ones on “Main” did not carry over. So I think there is something different about “Main” that causes this issue.

I first noticed issues when I made changes to Main on my iPad and they didn’t carry over to the desktop. Again, changes made to other dashboards appeared to sync correctly.

Environment:

Version: 26.2.0
Hosting: Pikapods
Browsers: Safari desktop and iPadOS (same behavior on both)
