Verified feature request does not already exist?

  • I have searched and found no existing issue

💻

  • Would you like to implement this feature?

Pitch: what problem are you trying to solve?

Adding a category to scheduled transactions

Describe your ideal solution to this problem

I've seen other people on reddit mention that they wish this was a feature

In YNAB if I right click on a transaction and choose "make repeating" it automatically fills in the category (that's already on the transaction) for the new scheduled transaction. It's very handy. I realize right now that I can go add it as a rule but it just seems like such an unnecessary step. But even with that I can't add that rule when I'm first making the scheduled transaction. Unless I'm mistaken I have to create it, save it and then go back into it an add the category as a rule. So it's actually several extra steps

Teaching and learning

With my suggestion the feature would be automatic, like it is in YNAB and many other financial programs
