Verified feature request does not already exist?

  • I have searched and found no existing issue

💻

  • Would you like to implement this feature?

Pitch: what problem are you trying to solve?

In short:

The current “Hide decimal places” setting applies system‑wide. In reports the decimals are less needed. I need to regularly go to settings to check/uncheck this option when switching between views.

Long:

In reports, I rarely need to see cents (decimal places). They add unnecessary visual clutter and make key numbers harder to read, especially when creating spending reports for multiple years (ex: a 5‑year report adds several extra characters per value (",99" each year), which compounds across all entries and makes the data visually heavier and harder to scan quickly.

Same in Summary cards, those extra decimals add noise and take precious visual space without improving comprehension.

Reports and dashboards should highlight overall trends and totals at a glance.

However, decimals remain essential in other areas:

  • Transactions: where exact amounts are critical.
  • Budget views: where finer control is useful.

Describe your ideal solution to this problem

Add a “Hide decimal places” option that applies only to reports, or make this configurable per report.

Possible approaches:

  • A new toggle in the Reports section’s settings (show/hide decimals).
  • A per‑report override in the report configuration.
