Verified feature request does not already exist?

  • I have searched and found no existing issue

💻

  • Would you like to implement this feature?

Pitch: what problem are you trying to solve?

I have imported a lot of accounts and been slowly making my way through them and checking that the balances are correct and, if so, reconciling the accounts.

However, there is no way in the accounts list to see which accounts have been reconciled in this manner, versus which ones still need reviewed. That is - which ones I have reconciled, and have no new transactions since I last did so.

Describe your ideal solution to this problem

I would like if, at least as an opt-in, accounts that have been reconciled (so where all transactions are reconciled and locked) would be able to show their current balance in the accounts list in a green colour or with some other visual feedback that said balance is 'known good'. (I feel an icon would add too much space)

Teaching and learning

Either we could make this standard behaviour, and then we just mention in the docs for the accounts sidebar what the colour of the balance indicates (green for all txns reconciled and locked, white otherwise) - or we could add and document an opt-in preference that will explain that users were enabling this feature.

Now that I've reminded myself the mobile view already uses green (red) to indicate non-0 positive (negative) balances...

  • I guess we would need a different colour for reconciled, or other format to not lose the 'polarity' indication, e.g. italic ?
  • It'd be great if desktop view could also highlight accounts with non-zero balances in this manner, as it's a really good way to visually sift lots of accounts & find ones that might need action (CC needs paid, checking needs xfer to savings, etc)

I cast my vote on this as well. Why is that accounts synchronized with SimpleFIN get a little status indicator but not accounts which are manually synchronized? Having to go over 20 accounts repeatedly to confirm reconciliation is a nuisance.

For now, I rely on an external document to keep track of work applied on all my accounts.

I just wanted to open a request for this kind of feature.

Today was the second time when I thought about how got it will be to have such a feature. I have almost 20+ accounts and it will be great to see which account is reconciled and which not.
