Verified feature request does not already exist?

  • I have searched and found no existing issue

💻

  • Would you like to implement this feature?

Pitch: what problem are you trying to solve?

Currently, the report graph feature only works if a category has transactions or deposits assigned to it. However, this excludes categories like "Savings," where I allocate leftover budget but do not record individual transactions.

Because of this, I can’t visualize how much is being budgeted toward savings (or similar categories) over time in the reports.

Requested Feature:
Please allow report graphs to display for categories even if they don’t have any transactions. Ideally, the graph could show:

  • Historical budgeting trends for that category, regardless of whether there were transactions.

Use Case:

  • Tracking savings or reserve funds.
  • Monitoring categories meant only for allocations, not spending.

Workaround:

  • Shadow split transaction with tagged note (to partially exclude from graph)
  • Off-budget account for Savings.

Describe your ideal solution to this problem
