Verified issue does not already exist?

  • I have searched and found no existing issue

What happened?

Exported ~7MB JSON from nYNAB and attempted to add via "Import from nYNB" feature in Actual App. Application displayed spinning with no completion indicated, let it sit for several hours just in case. Closed out of Actual and reopened and Actual had successfully imported the budget JSON.

Note: using offline without server on MacOS ARM64

How can we reproduce the issue?

How can we reproduce the issue?

Where are you hosting Actual?

Offline local

What browsers are you seeing the problem on?

No response

Operating System

MacOS ARM64

Does it work if you use the demo? What does the browser console show?

Just tried the demo in Safari and it loaded the JSON in about ~10 seconds and displayed the budget when completed.

OK. Then export the file from the demo and import that into your instance

Just to reiterate from the bug report, closing Actual and reopening shows the file was successfully loaded all along. It just infinitely spins and doesn't indicate so.

Would you be able to provide a sample file that we can test importing from please? It can all be dummy data but I do not have an nYNAB account to generate one with.

First time trying Actual and importing my YNAB data and same outcome on a Macbook 12" (Intel based) with the desktop client with an incomplete import.

Here is a console log from the desktop app.

And here is a screencast of the behavior:

Next I tried it in the browser. Same outcome, here is a console log

After reloading in the browser, I was instead stuck in a loading screen. Here is a screencast:

Same outcome after a forced refresh.

So I had a similar outcome on the desktop, with an (seemingly complete) import, but the client didn't load the budget. However, I did notice that the budgets don't match YNAB. Unsure, if there was an error in import, or if there are different methods of calculating the budgets in place.

If you tell me how can I clean my YNAB files for privacy reasons, I can try to produce sample data.

Thanks for the support

I also encounter the [Exception] Error: App: startServices called while services are already running error when using the API.
My code downloads multiple budgets one by one without calling api.shutdown. Although the error has been logged, it does not appear to affect my script, and the code continues to run successfully.

Hope this will helps

Are you able to test this on https://edge.actualbudget.com and see if this still exists please? There have been a couple of changes recently that may have fixed the issue.
