Verified feature request does not already exist?

  • I have searched and found no existing issue

💻

  • Would you like to implement this feature?

Pitch: what problem are you trying to solve?

Sometimes, I would like to add a bit of additional text to a Schedule describing more about it. I might be tempted to put that in the Title of the Schedule but I want to keep the titles fairly simple to minimize the potential of lookup failure resulting from the "#template schedule" syntax. Hence this request for a separate Notes field.

Describe your ideal solution to this problem

Thanks for sharing your idea!

This repository uses lodash style issue management for enhancements. That means enhancement issues are automatically closed. This doesn’t mean we don’t accept feature requests, though! We will consider implementing ones that receive many upvotes, and we welcome contributions for any feature requests marked as needing votes (just post a comment first so we can help you make a successful contribution).

If you want to do extra actions with the schedule, use the "edit as rule" option to add extra things like notes or a category.

The additional notes I'm proposing would apply to schedule itself, not to the particular transactions that are generated. I wouldn't be surprised if 99% of the time it would be empty, so feel free to prioritize this feature request accordingly. (Or, if there ever a less fragile way of referencing schedule entries from templates, then I imagine pretty much all of the edge cases that a Notes field would cover could be handled by parenthetical text in the Title.)
