What happened?

Hi everyone

When using tracking budgeting the widget Spending analysis does not take the correct budgeted amount. The amount is read from envelope budgeting.

How can we reproduce the issue?

In a new file: Enter a sum in envelope budgeting, control the widget in Reports
Then switch to tracking budgeting, the widget does not change anymore.

Where are you hosting Actual?

Docker

What browsers are you seeing the problem on?

Firefox

Operating System

Windows 11

I have the same issue. Running 25.3.1 on proxmox, using tracking budget.

It was driving me crazy why the budgeted amount was €15 for the whole month, every month. It was a left over amount value on the envelope budget.

Thanks

Can confirm. Switching to envelope budgeting changing the budgets and switching back works but only as a workaround.

Please fix this, it's really annoying. Should be simple?

I suspect I see the same issue as well. I have no envelope budget set and use tracking budget. The spending analysis widget shows a flat budget line on 0. Can this be fixed?

Yes I think it's an easy enough fix I have been meaning to attempt, validate, and submit a PR.

I can also confirm. This can be replicated on the demo if you first clear the envelope budget for the current month, then switch to tracking, create a budget for the current month, and look at the Spending Analysis for the current month. Budget line will stay at 0.
