Verified feature request does not already exist?

  • I have searched and found no existing issue

💻

  • Would you like to implement this feature?

Pitch: what problem are you trying to solve?

Actual Budget seems to be angled towards US and EU banks, which makes it hard to use with Indian Banks that export their data in PDF or XLS formats.

Describe your ideal solution to this problem

Is there a way to support the XLS format so that at least importing transactions manually becomes easier?

Teaching and learning

No response

As a workaround, could you create a macro-enabled Excel spreadsheet that automatically saves a .xls or .xlsx file as a .csv when opened, if it meets certain criteria (e.g. resides in a specific folder, is named in a particular way, etc.)?

While I haven't tried that auto saves the .xls files as .csv, I have tried manually converting my .xls files to .csv and Actual Budget threw a bunch of errors at me when I tried to import it.
