Verified feature request does not already exist?

  • I have searched and found no existing issue

💻

  • Would you like to implement this feature?

Pitch: what problem are you trying to solve?

Trying to match my transactions to my bank record when I've made some mistake somewhere is a massive challenge when all the transactions are in a different order to how they're laid out on my bank statement.

My bank statement will show a running total of account balance at each transaction, which I ideally should be able to match in Actual by exporting and running a basic formula to show a similar running total. But, this is pointless unless I reorder transactions to match the bank's record.

Less importantly, it's always off-putting seeing payments go out before payments come in and it appears as though my bank account went into a negative number based on the transaction order, when this didn't really happen.

Describe your ideal solution to this problem

Very simple. Just let us add the time of day to the date of the transaction. Make it optional, so those who don't need this feature don't have to care, but if you add a time, it'll then structure the transactions in order.

Teaching and learning

A simple addition to the calendar UI that allows the user to enter the hour/minute would suffice.
