Verified feature request does not already exist?

  • I have searched and found no existing issue

💻

  • Would you like to implement this feature?

Pitch: what problem are you trying to solve?

To quickly assess spending in a category from the budget screen, it would be helpful to see how much was spent in the previous month and over the past three months. This information would allow for a more informed decision on how much to allocate to that category budget.

I understand that the envelope approach focuses on not predicting income and utilizing what is available, but having the ability to estimate upcoming expenses by easily reviewing past spending in the budget screen would be beneficial.

Describe your ideal solution to this problem

It would be beneficial to preview total spending in the category from the budget screen by hovering over the spending, similar to the functionality in YNAB.

I know you can click on "Spend" from the budget screen, but it doesn't clearly show how much was spent last month.

Teaching and learning

Add into current documentation.
