Verified issue does not already exist?

  • I have searched and found no existing issue

What happened?

When viewing a custom report with a specific date range, then clicking into a category to see a breakdown, the filtered balance changes and the date range is different. This happens on every report.

How can we reproduce the issue?

See screenshots. The in-depth category view of transactions has different dates than the custom report.

I see similar issue in the same custom report setting (mode total, type net payment, just interval being monthly on my side, last 3 months).

When I change the split from group to category, the total changes. With split by group - it's correct (at least for the data shown in table). Changing split to payee gives yet another result...

@kmantel commented on GitHub (May 6, 2025):

I have this same issue with a custom report using date filters Live and Range: Year to date. Clicking on the number in the Totals column like circled in the OP goes to transactions with the filter date is less than or equals <date report created>. Clicking on Live in date filters (which is already highlighted) makes the same number click give transactions with the filter date is less than or equals <today>, and the report is then "(modified)". Updating the report keeps the new filtering. I'd expect not to need to update/save a Live filter.
