What happened?

I tried to make a local account and this error popped up:

After the error popped up, I can no longer view any transactions in any account, the budget, schedules, and reports.

How can we reproduce the issue?

  1. Click Add account
  2. Click Create a local account
  3. Input name/balance (zero balance has the same result)
  4. Click Create
  5. Error pops up
  6. Everything is broken

Where are you hosting Actual?

Fly.io

What browsers are you seeing the problem on?

Desktop App

Operating System

Mac OSX

Server on fly.io needed to be updated. After updated, it worked fine.

It would've been nice if the client could have told me that it was incompatible with the server.

If you have a hosted server, its best to use the web client and PWA. Using the desktop app with a hosted server will hit version mismatches all the time, like you found.

Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
