[Bug]: Hidden category disappeared, cannot unhide #1562

What happened?

I have a category I use to track changes in the values of investment accounts that are on-budget. I wanted to remove this category from budgeting so I hid the category in my budget.

However, now I can't unhide this category - it does not show up under the "Hidden Categories" section of the budget - it seems to be totally gone.

This category was the only category in a group. Now that group is not visible in the listing.

Tangentially, I wanted to exclude this category from budgeting but keep it around for tracking purposes. But now this category is not available to be assigned to transactions either.

Where are you hosting Actual?

Docker

What browsers are you seeing the problem on?

Firefox, Safari, Desktop App (Electron)

Delete Branch "%!s()"

Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
