📄 Description

Summary

When exporting transactions with a category filter active, only child transactions whose category matches are included in the export — the parent transaction is excluded because parents have no category. Since child transactions inherit their payee from the parent but the parent row is absent from the filtered results, the Payee column in the CSV is blank for those children.

Fix: after fetching the export rows, build a map of payees from parent transactions already in the result set. For children that still have no payee and whose parent is not in the result set, a single additional query fetches the missing parent transactions. The parent's payee is used as fallback in the Payee column: trans.Payee ?? parentPayeeById.get(trans.ParentId) ?? null.

The extra query only runs when there are actually children with missing payees — the common unfiltered case takes no additional queries.

Test plan

  • yarn workspace @actual-app/loot-core run test --testPathPattern export-to-csv passes
  • Export a filtered view containing only split-transaction children (e.g. filter by a category assigned to a child) — confirm Payee is populated from the parent in the CSV
  • Export without filters — confirm existing behavior is unchanged
