Pitch: what problem are you trying to solve?

I have multiple sources of YNAB budgets from over the years. YNAB kept encouraging me to "Start A Fresh" when I came back to it after a long breaks of many months. So the few times I went back to YNAB, I made a brand new YNAB budget file. I just went back in and exported all these budgets, and I now have 4 export .zip files (each corresponding to a different time in my life). I would like to be able to combine all these files inside Actual somehow to see everything all together across all time. I care most about the transactions and the categories and notes I added to each one. They are like a memory and as valuable as a photograph in some cases. I don't really care about the "Budget" side of things, I just want the transaction records to be all there.

Describe your ideal solution to this problem

I have some different ideas about how you could allow this:

  1. Offer a merge feature where 2 actual files are merged together.
  2. Offer an Actual transaction export and import feature

Teaching and learning

By telling users they can combine all their YNAB budgets into 1 single file. This problem will be pretty common among long term YNAB users, and many would appreciate it.
