As I recently discovered, long pressing the accounts icon at the bottom of the mobile app will pull up the "new transaction" page. Which is awesome. Although I noticed something that's missing. If you are in any given account register and hit the plus sign at the top right of the page, it will pull up the "new transaction" page, and the the Account field will be pre populated with the currently selected account. But if you are in a given account register and long press the "accounts" icon at the bottom of the page, that account field is not populated with the account you're currently viewing.

Edited for clarity.

Well, long-pressing works when you’re not in an account, so I’m not surprised that it doesn’t populate an account then. When you have an account open, I can see either behavior as sensible.

As I recently discovered, long pressing the accounts icon at the bottom of the mobile app, will pull up the "new transaction" page. Which is awesome. Although I noticed something that's missing. If you are in your checking account register and hit the plus sign at the top right of the page, it will pull up the "new transaction" page, with the account pre populated in the Account field. But if you are in your checking account register and long press the "accounts" icon at the bottom of the page, that account field is not populated with the account you're currently viewing.

I suppose that's true. you might be in an account, and decide you want to make a new transaction in a different account. Although I'm not sure there would be any less steps involved if it was populated or not populated to select a different account. Either way you have to press on (or click on if you're on computer) the account field, and select the account.

Just in my mind, if I'm already in an account, and start to add a new transaction, I'm not thinking about putting it in a different account. But I suppose some might... Just think consistency is good, but there might be a use case for the reason it leaves it blank.

Hey @bpaulien

The mobile apps are no longer supported, we are working on a responsive version of the web app for Actual which we hope to have merged into main soon.

Cheers
Rich
