Pitch: what problem are you trying to solve?

I recently discovered Actual and decided to try it out as part of a collegiate course on Open Source Software. I tinkered around in the application locally, and I noticed that it took me a long time to figure out how to select a transaction to delete, as the checkbox does not have an outline until it is selected. Once unselected, the outline stays momentarily until disappearing again.

Describe your ideal solution to this problem

I think the ideal solution to this issue would be to enable the outline at all times, where the outline of the checkboxes is visible by default. This solution seems intuitive from a usability perspective and can help tinkering users such as myself catch on to Actual quicker.

Teaching and learning

I don't think this would require any additional documentation or discoverability, as the outlined checkbox for selecting a line item seems to be common in various applications. Thus, I think the users will find it intuitive to use.
