📄 Description

Summary

Two bugs in the notification stacking system caused notifications to visually collide:

  1. Y_OFFSET_PER_LEVEL = -20: With typical notification heights of ~80px, back cards only peeked 20px above the front card — a 60px overlap. The stack looked like broken/colliding notifications rather than a clean card deck.

  2. MIN_OPACITY = 1: Math.max(1, 1 - index * OPACITY_MULTIPLIER) always evaluates to 1, making OPACITY_MULTIPLIER a dead constant. All stacked notifications rendered at full opacity, removing any visual hierarchy.

Fix: Y_OFFSET_PER_LEVEL raised from -20 to -100 so back cards clear the front card for typical notification sizes. MIN_OPACITY lowered to 0.5 so the opacity reduction (index 1 → 80%, index 2 → 60%) actually takes effect and creates the intended visual hierarchy.

  • Trigger two simultaneous notifications (e.g. bank sync + uncategorized count change)
  • Confirm the second notification is visible above the first without overlapping
  • Confirm back notifications are visually dimmed relative to the front notification
