What happened?

I was trying to open Actual while disconnected from my wifi and the app fataled.

Context: an iPhone 16 Plus running iOS 26.4, with the app pinned to the homescreen as a webapp.

I was able to resolve the issue by deleting the app from the home screen and recreating it.

I've attached the screenshot I captured that has part of the stack.

Thanks!

How can we reproduce the issue?

As mentioned above, I was simply trying to launch the app while off wifi, and that deleting and recreating the webapp on the home screen resolved the issue.

Where are you hosting Actual?

Docker

What browsers are you seeing the problem on?

Safari

Operating System

Mobile Device

I started fixing this, but I'm not sure I will get it out in time for the next release (+ it is not exactly a risk-less change, so I'd be quite anxious pushing it out just days before the release)

Ok, Claude thinks there is a simpler way to do this: https://github.com/actualbudget/actual/pull/7978

Maybe we can push that out in time for the release.. I just need to spend some time to do some thorough testing. Extra hands in testing are more than welcome!

https://github.com/actualbudget/actual/pull/7978 solved the problem

It's relatively low-risk, so we can cherry-pick it in the upcoming release too.
