Expose the average transfer rate (in bytes-per-second) during the
last full 'min-transfer-rate-in <bytes> <minutes>' minutes interval.
If no such interval has passed yet, then the overall average rate is
reported instead.

Add a new zone flag to indicate that a secondary type zone is
not yet fully ready, and a first time refresh is pending or is
in progress.
Expose this new flag in the statistics channel's "Incoming Zone
Transfers" section.
Add a new field in the incoming zone transfers section of the
statistics channel to show the transport used for the SOA request.
When the transfer is started beginning from the XFRST_SOAQUERY state,
it means that the SOA query will be performed by xfrin itself, using
the same transport. Otherwise, it means that the SOA query was already
performed by other means (e.g. by zone.c:soa_query()), and, in that
case, we use the SOA query transport type information passed by the
'soa_transport_type' argument, when the xfrin object was created.
as there is no further use of isc_task in BIND, this commit removes
it, along with isc_taskmgr, isc_event, and all other related types.
functions that accepted taskmgr as a parameter have been cleaned up.
as a result of this change, some functions can no longer fail, so
they've been changed to type void, and their callers have been
updated accordingly.
the tasks table has been removed from the statistics channel and
the stats version has been updated. dns_dyndbctx has been changed
to reference the loopmgr instead of taskmgr, and DNS_DYNDB_VERSION
has been udpated as well.
GL !7412 updated the set of counters exposed via the XML & JSON
statistics channels. Apply a corresponding version bump, which was
not included in that merge request.
The total memory counter had again little or no meaning when we removed
the internal memory allocator. It was just a monotonic counter that
would count add the allocation sizes but never subtracted anything, so
it would be just a "big number".
The maxinuse memory counter indicated the highest amount of
memory allocated in the past. Checking and updating this high-
water mark value every time memory was allocated had an impact
on server performance, so it has been removed. Memory size can
be monitored more efficiently via an external tool logging RSS.
The malloced and maxmalloced memory counters were mostly useless since
we removed the internal allocator blocks - it would only differ from
inuse by the memory context size itself.
limit the number of simultaneous DNS UPDATE events that can be
processed by adding a quota for update and update forwarding.
this quota currently, arbitrarily, defaults to 100.
also add a statistics counter to record when the update quota
has been exceeded.
This commit converts the license handling to adhere to the REUSE
specification. It specifically:
1. Adds used licnses to LICENSES/ directory
2. Add "isc" template for adding the copyright boilerplate
3. Changes all source files to include copyright and SPDX license
header, this includes all the C sources, documentation, zone files,
configuration files. There are notes in the doc/dev/copyrights file
on how to add correct headers to the new files.
4. Handle the rest that can't be modified via .reuse/dep5 file. The
binary (or otherwise unmodifiable) files could have license places
next to them in <foo>.license file, but this would lead to cluttered
repository and most of the files handled in the .reuse/dep5 file are
system test files.
The version number for the XML statistics channel was not incremented
correctly after removal of isc_socket code in
a55589f881, and the JSON version number
was not incremented at all.
The HTML view of the statistics channel creates
pages with many long tables. These can be difficult
to navigate.
This commit adds a "show/hide" toggle to each
heading, which makes it easy to compress/expand
the view.
In ISC-Bugs 45340, I wrote:
The Statistics channel offers links to Zones and Traffic.
Both produce valid data, but display as blank pages with
a web browser.
Zones never had XSL (I provided the original
implementation, but punted on the XSL).
Traffic has XSL, but it wasn't updated to reflect the
split between IPv4 and IPv6 data.
I've picked up enough XSL to fix my original omission,
and as penance for my sloth, fixed the Traffic bug as well.
The XSL stylesheet used by the web interface does not currently include
any element which would cause a list of zones configured in each view to
be displayed, making the "Zones" section of the web interface empty
unless some zone has been configured with "zone-statistics full;" and
queried. Since this can be confusing, modify the XSL stylesheet so that
a list of zones configured in each view is displayed in the web
interface.
4290. [func] The timers returned by the statistics channel
(indicating current time, server boot time, and
most recent reconfiguration time) are now reported
with millisecond accuracy. [RT #40082]
4156. [func] Added statistics counters to track the sizes
of incoming queries and outgoing responses in
histogram buckets, as specified in RSSAC002.
